Chamber News

This past year has been a very busy one for the Starbuck Area Chamber of Commerce. We have not only been busy promoting what we as a community have to offer but also trying to build and protect what we currently have in our community. If you wish to join the Starbuck Chamber of Commerce please call us at (320) 239-4220

The chamber has numerous responsibilities to and for the community. The chamber is the entity that provides the leadership for the Annual Heritage Days celebration. This celebration is the largest for the year and brings in more visitors than the population of our community. The chamber also hosts the Dragon Boat Races.  In 2008, the Starbuck Chamber introduced Chinese Dragon Boat Racing on the western shores of Lake Minnewaska. This event was held the 2nd weekend in August.  With the excitement of 19 teams the first year and only one boat tipping over, the event turned out to be a winner!  With approximately almost 3,000 people attending, watching or paddling, it was a great event for all ages.

The Chamber of Commerce is working to bring different organizations together to band their efforts into a unified approach so that all of us will come through stronger and wiser.

 – We are trying to work with the city on issues such as the bike path, making of more campgrounds,  Sr. housing, and the overall presentation that Starbuck has to offer.

 - We have a new mural on the bandshell in the park, that was painted by local artist Steve Larson.  The mural is of our marina.
